What is Microinjection (ICSI)?

In vitro fertilization of eggs and sperm cells occurs in two different ways: conventional IVF or microinjection. In the conventional IVF technique, a certain amount of egg cells are put together and fertilization is expected to occur spontaneously. In the ICSI method, a sperm cell is deposited into each egg cell using a special micropipette.
